Introducing Our New Director from France, Melina

Greeting a New Director from France!

In the meantime, many international couples have come to visit us. We've seen a lot of international couples having trouble with preparing a wedding in Korea because of different market system and cultural background.

So, now we introduce our new director, Melina, who will be in charge of helping foreigners who want to have a wedding in Korea. We also expects to extend our point of view on the international wedding culture so that we could help more people make their happiest once-in-a-lifetime moment in Korea.

Now we introduce Melina, a new motivation to WEDIT.

Hello Korea, hello Wedit

I am Melina, I've just arrived in Korea from France and I am integrating Wedit in the wedding directing team.

I've been attending weddings in France as well as in Korea (more in Korea than in France actually) and, as a foreigner, I can say that weddings in Korea are very particular. All those very fancy wedding halls organizing weddings with a factory speed surprised me more than I thought.

Living now in this country, I asked myself, what if I got to marry here ? How would I like my wedding to be ? While talking with other French friends of mine living in Korea, we couldn't deny that our French culture was taking the upper hand and that Korea could offer so much different opportunities than those wedding halls. This is how I got to know about small weddings and Wedit.

But why would I work in that company ? I've been living in Korea for 3 years in total and I know how personal, love and daily life can be difficult as a foreigner, even while knowing the Korean language and culture. This is the reason why, with Wedit goal to change the market and the culture of Korean weddings, I have been attracted right away with the idea of helping foreigners mixing their culture with their Korean loved ones culture for what we call the best day of one's life.

As a new Wedit team member, I am excited to hear about your life journey and help you make your wedding as perfect as it should be and I am looking forward meeting you very soon !

Thanks a lot for reading

Stylish Urban Rooftop Wedding Party in Seoul, Korea

Nils and Haeyoung, a beautiful stylish couple who currently living in Shanghai, China, asked Wedit to prepare the wedding in Seoul Korea as the bride Haeyoung wanted to have a wedding with their family at her birthplace.

The groom Nils, a German automobile designer, through several concept discussions using Kakaotalk(mobile messenger app), requested that their wedding theme to be "Nothing more, nothing less" which represents their aesthetic standards.

their Wedding Invitation Card

After done makeup and hair, they moved to the wedding ceremony place called Chungdong Francisco church located in Myeongdong, Seoul.

The exterior of ceremony place itself was beautiful enough for the wedding in Summer and also has a Korean traditional house good for the photos to be taken.

After the pre-wedding shoot, the sacred wedding has taken place.

of course, with cute flower girls

Friends from Germany, France, Shanghai and Korea came to celebrate their big day.

Now the after party begins!

Nils and Haeyoung had chosen the rooftop venue, the Ibis Styles Ambassador hotel in Myeongdong which was selected as must-visit  rooftop bar in Seoul, for their foreign friends to see the whole landscape of Seoul as well as the city's night view.

Wines, Champagnes, spirits and cocktails were prepared for the crazy booze-up!

Yes, of course the DJ was invited to celebrate their party. Please be informed that inviting DJ at normal Korean wedding isn't an easy thing, but we, Wedit can bring DJs to your wedding ;)

The groom's mother who had a long trip from Germany to Korea, prepared a long heart touching letters.

Beautiful couple with beautiful sunset

The lovely couple had prepared gifts made with Korean traditional small pouch for the guests which were filled with hangover pills, band-aids and pain killers.

Now it's the real party time!

Their wedding party was "officially" ended at 1:00 am the next day but we heard the party lasted until 4 am at Itaewon.

[Destination Wedding In Korea] Soul Searching Wedding in Seoul

One Day I got an instant message

Chelsea was looking for an wedding planner
who can plan her wedding in Seoul

I wondered what made her want to do her wedding
half way across the world

Chelsea & Andrew's story

Chelsea and Andrew met in 2011 and instantly fell in love

Chelsea had a wish

She was born in korea but adopted to US as a baby

She wanted to find who she was
And always wanted to be recognized by her birth parents

Andrew understood her long wish
and when she asked

"Can we do our wedding in Korea?"

without hesitation

"Yes"

(Andrew proposing to Chelsea on the top of Eiffel Tower)

So the planning began

The biggest concern was the venue

I wanted to find the right place where Chelsea can
find her heritage also cozy and peaceful

After a month of searching...searching

I found just the right spot for this special wedding

Salon Margot

A quiet Hanok Cafe near Changduk Palace

After a long 6 month preparation
the wedding day came at last

Chelsea became the most beautiful bride

and Andrew wore makeup

After some time in front of a camera
They headed for the beautifully prepared venue

Everybody was excited about the wedding

It was a small wedding
but was meaningful than any other

Andrew couldn't stop smiling

The bride enters

In the name of

Family
&
Love

What made this ceremony so special

Joe, Chelsea's Father
was the officiant of the sacred wedding

Father love to her little girl

And all the parents of Andrew & Chelsea
came all the way to Korea
to support their young one's love

The Ceremony was both touching and joyful

Even made Andrew's father weep in tears

"Now you may kiss the bride!"

Chelsea's birth mother attended the wedding

Making Chelsea the happiest bride

She at last became fully Chelsea & 안효미

During the wedding reception

Chelsea's Korean mother couldn't let go of her hand
She hold Chelsea's hand as long as she could

It was as though she was quietly sending a silent message

"Thank you for growing so beautifully
I'm sorry...
And I love you"

I wanted to prepare a surprise gift for the two lovely couple

So I rented a pair of'Han-bok' (Korean traditional Clothes)
So that they can really enjoy the Korean heritage

Andrew was shy in the outfit at first
But he sort of liked it in the end...

After the wedding Andrew sent me a message

Because they were staying in Seoul as their honeymoon
He proposed we meet and have a glass of 'soju'

In the end it was not a glass...
It turned into bottles of soju

We had so much fun knowing each other

Sharing the memory of the most happiest day of someone's life
made us friends, real friends. In korea we call this 인연

After returning home
Andrew gave us a great review

Being a part of an unforgettable day

It felt like a miracle to me

To be someone who is a part of their history
is an honor and privilege

It was so grateful to be your Wedding Planner
