[Your French Director] 6 months later at WEDIT

It’s been 6 months now that I’ve been introduced to you guys on this blog ! And at this occasion, I’ll talk to you again more in detail about this experience in Wedit.

While looking back, I have to say first that I learned a lot, personnally and professionally.
My work as a director started with the help of the whole team who taught me all they could. I can’t deny it was kind of hard in the beginning to learn all those stuff in Korean after a 7 months stay in France where my Korean use was pretty limited.

As I started planning weddings for you, international brides and grooms, the first things I realized is that I was recognising myself in those couples who were confronting cultural, language or in-laws differencies and obstacles.

I also got to integrate this Wedit family which members are here for each other, even if they have bad days sometimes ! (Sorry guys ! Just joking, or not.. especially when you all eat salad for lunch and are hungry all afternoon ㅋㅋㅋ).

As we got to learn more about our partners work by having them giving us classes, I also could see that Wedit cares about the people they work with even if, while planning your wedding, we’ll always be on YOUR side (I learned that as well in the hard way when fighting with the vendors to meet the requirements of the couple !).

I also learned much more than I thought I would about the Korea wedding market which has always been very particular in my point view, and even more now.

All that to say that the experiences with all of our brides and grooms were amazing and touching and my stay in WEDIT will be in my mind for long but I now have to go back to the homeland !

Wish all the best to you, brides, grooms and WEDIT family and I will see you again !

Melina ~ out !

[International Wedding In Korea with WEDIT ] How do we plan your wedding

Hello everyone !

As you can guess with our non-activity on the blog, we’ve been quite busy preparing weddings nowadays. And because we had to plan a lot of them during the last weeks, this is the perfect time to show you Wedit, from the inside !
How do we plan your wedding  ? How do we prepare it the week, days just before or even during the D-day ? I am taking you with me in our office to explain you what really happens when the deadline is getting closer.
Wedit team will be by your side at every step of your wedding planning

Before jumping to the last weeks before the ceremony, I would like to talk to you quickly about the first day we meet you. This is always a special day for us and, the hour before our meeting, we keep wondering what kind of people are you, what kind of wedding do you want, which new experience will you drag us in ? All those questions which often lead us to talk to you a loooot.

Chelsae and Andrew were the first International couple who trusted us ^^

After all the planning process, if we go few weeks before the wedding, we’ll probably be fixing all the little details with you and the vendors. If everything goes smoothly, the last week will be for you to relax, be with your family and friends from abroad if there are and finish writting your vows (maybe you finished them already, but we know it! Because you are busy, you usually do it the last week!).
We’ll skip the part « if everything doesn’t go smoothly » because first, there is no reason things don't go well and second, we don’t want to scare you haha.

The two last days are for us to gather all we need (and don’t need, but you know, « just in case ») for the D-day. Equipped with our checklists we keep filling our boxes with tools, decoration, paperwork and such until we feel safe. This is also the right time to call all the partners and remind them at which hours they should arrive at the wedding and ask them if they prepared everything.

On the wedding day, we usually arrive at the venue few hours before the ceremony and take control of all the vendors. We sometimes turn ourselves into decorator assistants (I have to say, it's pretty nice) and we make sure that everything is on place before you and the guests arrive.

Finally, during the ceremony, we’ll be right next to you and check if everything is going well and we’ll also manage all the technical parts so you do not need to worry about having the mics, your vows or the rings on time. Once you are finally declared married and the party is over, we take back all we came with and it is time for us to go and let you enjoy your newlywed life.

Apart from all these organizational steps, we do like being there for you at your wedding. Like your guests, even if we are part of the working staff in the venue, we are touched by your ceremony, your vows, the speeches your family make and I personally want to say that we do get moved by all this love all around.
And at the end of the day, if we have a happy couple in front of us, we are happy as well.

[International Wedding in Korea] Another gorgeous international couple

In the short time I worked with WEDIT as a director, this wedding was sincerely the most touching I attended.
On April 15th, Jasmine from Canada and Sangjun from Korea, a more than lovely couple, got married in Seulberg Pension, in Yangpyeong.
The planning of the ceremony itself wasn’t always easy for the bride and groom. The couple faced several life and cultural obstacles (I think they can relate to most of the obstacles we talked about in this article) but like everyone could see at the wedding, their strong love surpassed all of them.
The ceremony was shooted by Greg Samborski (you can see more of his work in our previous article) on a sunny, happy and memorable day.
As some were relaxing before doing their make up with a face mask, some family members took care of one essential thing of the day : the drinks. Indeed, the pension offered a very nice and natural fridge : a mountain spring.
In the Canadian culture, the groom cannot see the bride until she get prepared, a point that was really important for the bride. As she was with her bridesmaids, the groom got prepared with his groomsmen and with the help of his soon-to-be Mother in law.
Even if the ceremony was delayed, making hungry and angry some guests, close friends and family as well as the groom gave speeches that every couple would like to hear from their loved ones.

During the ceremony, the couple mixed their two cultures by having a westernized ceremony while wearing the Hanbok, traditional Korean cloth.
Even after the obstacles faced, the day of the wedding as well, the couple offered us a very beautiful ceremony with touching vows and reactions (and happy tears !).
The ceremony table was decorated with beautiful flowers and greeneries by Choi Hyunmi from Petal Palette as well as very cute cupcakes and cake by Jayleen Yu from Sweet Seasons.
After a romantic dance, and a good meal, the day finished with joyful dances and laughs until night and we left with an happy bride, groom and families.
Thank you to Jasmine and Sangjun for giving us this pretty day and to our partners who made the work easier !
